If  you want to do a meditation but don’t think sitting is the best way to go about it, try this walking meditation. You can walk anywhere while you do it. Put out a yoga mat and just walk back and forth on this seemingly small space.

Find a safe area like a hallway with no traffic and walk slowly down the hall and back. The idea is to walk slowly and mindfully. Feel your weight shift from foot to foot. Feel the weight of your body on each foot from heel to toe.

Focus on breathing in and out slowly. Stay present. Don’t talk with anyone for the duration of this short practice so you are not distracted. If you have a protected area outside like your yard, that is another place this works well.

Congratulate yourself on your willingness to try something new and for being mindful.
