March is Colon Cancer Awareness month and that means just one thing…
It’s time to ask, “When was the last time I had a colonoscopy?”
You wouldn’t think colon cancer is something to sing about. But colon cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer.
And it’s the most preventable.
Singing about it helps overcome the embarrassment!
Most cancers happen and we hope we find it before it spreads.
But colon cancer can be diagnosed before it is cancer.
Why don’t people get a colonoscopy? It’s messy, a little uncomfortable and…
It’s embarrassing.
However, if you get a colonoscopy, it’s possible to find pre-cancer in a polyp BEFORE it turns into cancer…
And cure it by removing the polyp before it’s ever happens.
I had to have one (more than one but whose counting).
And when it happened, I was lying on the table and this song just kind of popped into my head.
It explains why you need it and what happens when you get one.
You’ll enjoy the name of the song. I’m not going to tell you what it is here, but you can find out when I get to the chorus.
Take two minutes and listen to the Colon Cancer Song by yours truly, Dr. Mache.
And if you’re over 50 and haven’t had one in 10 years, or you are younger with a strong family history of colon cancer, it’s time to get your colonoscopy.
