I want to share this interview I did with Puja Mehta, a cardiologist at the Barbara Streisand Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Here she discusses heart attacks in women and what you need to know.
Men and women have such different symptoms that many women don’t realize that symptoms like nausea or neck pain or indigestion could be a sign of a heart attack. Most don’t have the crushing chest pain that often happens to men.
One other major point is that women can heart disease even if the arteries in their heart are open. That is because in women, it is often the little micro-blood vessels that are affected rather than the larger ones tested when dye is injected into the arteries to get an x-ray.
Listen to this very important video on heart attacks in women. It could save your life.
